Project Overview
This Southeast Asia project started at an international exhibition.
The customer showed interest in our steel planking during the exhibition, and both sides had a good first discussion. After the show, however, the communication slowed down. For a period of time, the customer did not reply as quickly as before.
We kept the follow-up polite and steady through email and phone. Instead of sending only general product introductions, we focused on the customer’s possible use case: bridge maintenance access.
Later, we had the chance to visit the customer’s company in Southeast Asia. That visit helped restart the project.
We brought samples and bilingual product documents to the meeting.
Face to face, we answered the customer’s questions about size, hook details, packing, and bridge maintenance access use. After the visit, they moved forward with 500mm Q195 steel planking.
We shipped the goods to Southeast Asia in October 2025.

From Exhibition Contact to Real Discussion
This customer first found us at an exhibition.
They came to the booth to check our steel plank and access products. We had a practical talk about size, use, and packing, but after the show, the follow-up went quiet for some time.
This is common in export projects. A buyer may show interest at a show, but they still need time to compare suppliers, check local demand, review pricing, and decide whether the product matches their market.
We did not push the customer with repeated price messages. We kept in touch by email and phone and shared information that matched their application. Since the customer was looking at access use, we focused the discussion on plank width, hook design, packing, surface finish, and bridge maintenance work.
Preparing for the Customer Visit
The turning point came when we got the chance to visit the customer’s company.
Before the visit, we prepared product samples and bilingual documents. The goal was simple: the customer needed to see more than a quotation. They needed to understand the product, the factory’s supply ability, and the way we handle export orders.
At the customer’s office, we did not talk only about price.
They explained where the planks would be used and what kind of access products they needed. We showed the samples and went through the 500mm width, hook details, surface finish, and packing with the customer.
By the end of the meeting, the customer had a clear product direction: Q195 steel planking for bridge maintenance access.
Product Details for Bridge Maintenance Access

The customer finally chose 500mm steel planking in Q195 steel.
Because the planks would be used for bridge maintenance access, we paid attention to the parts that matter on site: the walking surface, hook connection, welds, surface finish, and packing. Before loading, we checked these points again and arranged the planks by batch.
When stacking the goods, we kept the hook ends aligned as much as possible. That made the container loading cleaner and also made it easier for the customer to unload and sort the planks after arrival.
Packing and Shipment

Before loading, the team sorted the 500mm steel planking into batches.
They checked the hook ends again, then placed the planks flat in the container. The long pieces went in layer by layer. Same-size planks stayed together, and the hook ends faced the same direction where the space allowed.
After the container was loaded, we took photos from the door and sent them to the customer.
The shipment left for Southeast Asia in October 2025.
For this order, the key was not only the product itself. The real progress came from patient follow-up after the exhibition and a face-to-face visit that helped the customer rebuild confidence in the cooperation.
What This Project Shows
The order did not come right after the exhibition.
After the first meeting, the customer needed more time to check their market, compare options, and decide whether the 500mm steel planking matched their bridge maintenance work. We stayed in touch through email and phone instead of pushing only for a price decision.
The visit changed the discussion.
We brought the samples and bilingual documents to the customer’s office. On site, we checked the 500mm width, hook type, surface finish, packing method, and delivery time with them. After that, the customer decided to use Q195 steel planking for bridge scaffolding.
For similar orders, buyers can send the plank width, hook type, platform use, material grade, surface treatment, packing request, quantity, destination port, and delivery time. When we receive these details early, we can check the product plan before production instead of solving basic questions near loading.
